Free Things To Do This Weekend: Fall For Fairfax KidsFest

FAIRFAX, VA—The weather's beginning to look more like fall, so it's perfect timing for a free fall festival this weekend.
Fall for Fairfax KidsFest is a weekend full of family-friendly activities at the Fairfax County Government Center, (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax). It will be held Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. & Sunday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The festival is geared toward families with younger children. Some of the activities include more than a dozen rides and attractions at the KidWay MidWay, scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, pony rides, model trains, petting zoo and more. There are also live performances on the Innovation Health Kids Stage and the Cox Community Stage. Some activities require a fee but admission is free. Buy discounted ride tickets here.

Festivalgoers are asked to bring donations of pants and long-sleeved shirts for the scarecrows. Please bring clothing directly to the scarecrow program area or the information tent while you’re at the festival.
Fall for Fairfax KidsFest is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Featuring over 75 exhibits and delicious food, it's sure to be a fun day for the whole family.
