Get Free Ice Cream In Springfield On Tuesday

You can get a complimentary ice cream on Tuesday to celebrate Free Cone Day.

It has started feeling like ice-cream weather in the DC area. (If, that is, you believe it's ever really too cold for tasty ice cream).

With a forecast high in the 70s Tuesday afternoon, why not take advantage of Free Cone Day at Haagen-Dazs shops in Springfield and throughout the region? From 4-8 p.m., they'll be handing out a free scoop of ice cream or sorbet in a cup, sugar cone or cake cone to anyone who asks.

Here are the locations in Springfield, Northern Virginia and DC where you can score your free frozen treat:

This year, in addition to handing out free ice cream, Haagen-Dazs is celebrating the contributions of the humble honey bee. The company'sHäagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees campaign is 10 years old and the brand is dedicating Free Cone Day to the hard-working pollinators and asking consumers to support the buzz.

According to the company, one-third of the world's foods, including one-third of Haagen-Dazs flavors, are bee dependent. But bees are disappearing at a high rate.
