Hiring Underway For Future Amazon Grocery Store In Franconia
There is no confirmed opening date yet for the future grocery store in the former Shoppers space.

FRANCONIA, VA — Hiring is underway for a future Amazon grocery store in Franconia.
The store will be located in a space over 31,000 square feet at the Festival at Manchester Lakes shopping center. Shoppers was the anchoring retailer at the shopping center before it closed in 2020. The former Shoppers space was split into the 31,000-square-foot grocery space, a vacant 16,000-square foot retail space, and the recently-opened Homesense.
A spokesperson could not confirm what type of store is opening or the anticipated opening date. The types of Amazon grocery stores include Amazon Fresh grocery stores and Amazon Go Grocery. More details will be shared at a later time.

The future Amazon grocery store is hiring for full-time and part-time positions, specifically grocery, food service and kitchen associates. Pay starts at $15 per hour, and there are a variety of benefits packages and a Career Choice program with education and training for in-demand jobs. Jobs are also available at a future location in the Logan Circle area of DC.
Grocery associates will be trained for a variety of roles, including customer service, stocking shelves, cashiering, and picking and packing customer orders. Kitchen associates work in the store’s culinary area to prepare fresh food, while food service associates work with produce, meat, seafood, and other fresh foods.

This will be the first of Amazon's new concept grocery stores in Northern Virginia. Amazon also owns Whole Foods Market.
"The Fairfax County Economic Development thanks Amazon for its decision to make the investment to open a grocery store in Fairfax County, Virginia,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. "Not only will the store benefit the community for grocery shopping, but it will also create local job opportunities when jobs are needed most."
