How Kingstowne Area Precincts Voted In 2020 Democratic Primary

KINGSTOWNE, VA — After the polls closed on Super Tuesday, several news outlets immediately called the Virginia Democratic primary for former Vice President Joe Biden. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Biden captured 53.3 percent of the vote, well ahead of the 23.1 percent for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 10.7 percent for Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and 9.6 percent for former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Biden also performed well among voters in the Kingstowne-Rose Hill area, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections. In all, Biden secured 49.8 percent of the vote in Fairfax County, followed by 23.3 percent for Sanders, 12.1 percent for Warren and 11.5 percent for Bloomberg. Bloomberg dropped out of the race on Wednesday.

Below we take a look at specific results for precincts in the Kingstowne-Rose Hill area. Percentages are included for the top four Democratic candidates — Sanders, Biden, Warren and Bloomberg. Biden led in all precincts, although Biden narrowly edged Sanders 40.9 percent to 39.1 percent in the Pioneer precinct.
