KINGSTOWNE, VA — Pumpkins are showing up at grocery stores and roadside stands as Halloween creeps closer. If your family has a visit planned to a local pumpkin patch around Kingstowne or Fairfax County, we have a list of stands open in the area. And here’s a look at the weekend weather forecast to help you plan your trip.

The earlier part of the weekend is looking better for outdoor activities. Friday turned out to be sunny with a high temperature in the 70s. That will transition into a mostly cloudy night with a low around 58, according to the National Weather Service. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high around 75 and low around 62.

Sunday has a greater chance of being rainy. Showers are likely, mainly after 2 p.m. with a 60 percent chance of precipitation and high near 74. The chance of precipitation at night will increase to 80 percent with a low around 63 degrees.

Even if you have Monday off for the Columbus Day holiday, showers are still in the forecast. Showers are likely with an 80 percent chance of precipitation and high near 70. The chance of showers at night will fall to 60 percent with a low around 64.

Hours: Oct. 4 to 31, weekdays noon to 6 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Greenstreet Gardens, 1721 W Braddock Rd, Alexandria, VA

Hours: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday

Burke Nursery's Pumpkin Playground, 9401 Burke Road, Burke, VA

Hours: Pumpkin patch and Halloween-themed backdrops for photos, Oct. 1 to 31, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday

Hours. Lake Ridge Nursery's Pumpkin Patch activities are closed, but it is still selling pumpkins. Oct. 1 to 31, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Meadows Farms Nurseries, 4808 Backlick Road, Annandale, VA

Hours: Pumpkins and fall produce for sale, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday

Cox Farms, 15621 Braddock Rd, Centreville, VA 20120

Hours: Fall festival is canceled this year. A drive-thru market is open from Sept. 25 to Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Nov. 1 to 2 from10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sales are online only.

Whitehall Farms Fall Open House, 12523 Popes Head Road, Clifton, VA

Hours: The fall festival is canceled, but the farm is hosting an open house with advance tickets. Weekends from Oct. 3 to Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DePaul's Urban Farm, 2599 Chain Bridge Road, Vienna, VA

Hours: Daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
