Northern Virginia Senior Olympics Registration Ends Next Saturday

The 2012 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) take place in mid-September, and registration ends on Sept. 1. 

NVSO participants must be at least 50 years old and reside in the following areas:

• Fairfax County
• Alexandria City
• Arlington County
• Fauquier County
• Loudoun County
• Prince William County
• Fairfax City

The events will take place Sept. 15-26 at various venues around Northern Virginia, including the Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield. They will feature over 40 activities including the following: 

• Track and field
• Swimming
• Diving
• Tennis
• Table tennis
• Bowling
• Wii bowling
• Golf
• Miniature golf
• Basketball 
• Pickleball
• Racquetball
• Scrabble
• Duplicate bridge
• Bunco
• Mexican Train dominos
• Pool
• Bocce
• Frisbee
• Cycling
• Horseshoes
• Line dancing
• Volleyball 
• Cribbage
• Yo-yo tricks
