In the DC region, we might as well be saying February showers bring March flowers.
After a bit of snow fell Saturday, Feb. 17, the weather has taken a drastic turn toward spring-like temperatures and bouts of rain. The region saw two record warm sunny days last week followed by a weekend of dreary, wet weather through the region.
The good news is, the rain will wave a white flag, at least for a few days this week. The work week starts off with cloudy skies possibly clearing up by Tuesday. Rain could return Thursday, but let's keep our fingers crossed it only lasts one day. Right now forecasters do not anticipate rain for the start of next weekend. Temperatures could stay around the 50s during the day and the 30s or 40s at night.

With a warmer February than usual, don't be surprised if cherry blossoms bloom early just like last year. Keep your eye out Thursday, March 1 for the National Parks Service's announcement on their projected bloom date.
