UPDATE: Missing Teen from Springfield Area Returns Home: Police

Boy, 16, was last seen Monday, according to Fairfax County Police and returned home a week later.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- (UPDATE Tuesday 11:15 a.m.): Fairfax County Police say Emerson A. Lopez Fugon, 16, has returned home, police announced Tuesday morning. His mom reported him missing Wednesday from his home. Police put out word that he was missing when his mother reported him missing. He was last seen Monday night (Jan. 9), police said.

The missing juvenile returned to his home in Springfield on his own accord Monday, police said. His mother called police to let them know. Officers responded to the house and found him to be in good health.

An investigation by police determined the teenager left voluntarily, so officers entered him as a missing runaway. Detectives took over the investigation and as a result of new information received this week, police said they believed Lopez Fugon may have been in danger.
