Soldier Reunites With Kids: Springfield Father's Day Photo
This heartwarming photo shows 1st Lt. Brian Staton reuniting with his kids after a one-year deployment.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—Whether it's through their personality, looks, hobbies or a combination of everything, sons become a reflection of the man who raised them. With Father's Day 2018 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across Virginia to share their "father-son look-alike" photos. Even if you don't look that much alike!
It doesn't matter how old the kids are, they'll always be your babies!
Springfield resident Sarah Fondriest sent us this memorable photo of her husband 1st Lt. Brian K. Staton returning home from a one-year deployment in Kuwait last year at National Airport. The photo shows him greeting his kids, Little Brian, who was eight months old when their father was deployed, and Carmela, who was three. Fondriest said the anticipation was high for his return, since being away from his kids for one year had been a long time.

Happy Father's Day, Brian and thank you for your service!
