Sweet Mama Dog Looking For Home

Her puppies all got homes through an Alexandria rescue group. Now this black lab mama is looking for her forever home.

FORT BELVOIR, VA—If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend, consider a local rescue group like Alexandria-based Operation Paws for Homes. The group rescues dogs from overcrowded, high-kill shelters in the south, mainly Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina and finds new homes for them.

One of these dogs is Nova, a black labrador retriever and mother of six puppies. While all of her puppies have found their homes, this mama dog is looking for her own family.

She's being fostered in Fort Belvoir. Act soon, because there are potential adopters interested in her!

Here's a description of Nova, courtesy of Operation Paws for Homes:

Hello! My name is Nova! I found homes for my six puppies and now I need one for myself!
I am a 2-year-old Black Labrador Retriever mix! I am very sweet and love to cuddle!
I came to OPH with her six puppies! I’m a great mom, but now that my little ones have grown, I’m looking for a family of my own.
I won’t wait long for a home- better apply soon!
