KINGSTOWNE, VA — When summer officially ends, pumpkin patches, festivals and other fall events abound. The area around Kingstowne has a number of events worth checking out.

- Sept. 14: Fall Community Wide Yard Sale in Kingstowne: Residents around Kingstowne will be selling their items outside their homes.
- Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9: Friends of Kingstowne Library Book Sale: Browse children's books, graphic novels, cookbooks, DVDs and more to benefit library programs and resources.
- Sept. 28: Pumpkin Hill opens at Nalls Produce: Pick pumpkins, try out the pumpkin tunnel, take family photos and enjoy fall treats at Nall Produce.
- Oct. 3-6: Fort Belvoir Oktoberfest: This four-day event features a carnival, German cuisine and beverages, music, dancing and more.
- Oct. 19: Springfield Town Center Fall Fest: Springfield Town Center's first-ever fall fest will have live entertainment, food, beer, family games, crafts and pumpkin decorating.
- Oct. 27: Taste of Greater Springfield: This tasting event benefits West Springfield High School students who will attend Northern Virginia Community College, as well as other community projects.
