Virtual Entry-Level Career Fair Planned In Northern Virginia

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Over 25 companies in Northern Virginia will be participating in a virtual career fair for entry level positions on Thursday, May 20.

The free virtual event will happen between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. through the virtual platform Brazen. Participants will be able to browse the virtual lobby and enter companies' booths to view open positions, join video conferencing and chat with HR representatives.

The event is geared toward job candidates in the early parts of their careers. Candidates do not need to be currently located in Northern Virginia, and some companies are open to remote working options.

The job fair is being hosted by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority in coordination with the eSports community and with outreach to more than 100 colleges and universities in the U.S. It is part of a series of job fairs the economic development authority is hosting in response to COVID-19. The pandemic has particularly caused entry level positions for college graduates to fall, while economic uncertainty has caused some older adults to consider career changes.

"We want to let anyone looking to start or restart their career – from recent college graduates and retired members of our military to parents reentering the workforce – that Northern Virginia is the place to do it," said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the FCEDA. Participating employers in the virtual job fair include Altamira, AOC Solutions, ASM Research, Carasoft, Cox Communications, Devensoft, Employment Enterprises, GCOM, Granules, ID.Me, IntelliDyne, Interstate, ManTech, Orpheus, Perfecta, Pyramid Academy, Ridgeline, ScienceLogic, Stratford Capital Group and Unison.
