Wegmans Closes Pub Locations, Including At Kingstowne Store

KINGSTOWNE, VA — The Pub by Wegmans at the Kingstowne store is now a thing of the past.

All of the Pub locations are permanently closed, the Democrat & Chronicle first reported. An OpenTable listing confirmed the Pub location at 7905 Hilltop Village Center Drive, Alexandria won't reopen.

With the decision to close Pubs, Wegmans switched gears after the restaurants were temporarily closed during the coronavirus pandemic. A Wegmans spokesperson told the Democrat & Chronicle workers have the chance to accept other positions at Wegmans. There were Pub by Wegmans locations in Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.

The Pub by Wegmans had been a fixture of the Hilltop Village Center store when it first opened in 2015. Although the pub is closed, indoor and outdoor seating is open at the location. Prepared food can be purchased, but the self-serve buffet section remains closed.
