Public Schools Education Foundation (MCPSEF) recently awarded sevenacademic scholarships to Class of 2021 Osbourn High School graduates for a total of $12,5000.Due to the pandemic, the annual Scholarship Night was held virtually with scholarship sponsors,families, School Board members and Osbourn High School teachers and administrators.

The Micron and Lockheed Martin STEM scholarships are awarded to students planning topursue careers in Science Technology Engineering or Math. Recipients included:● Annay Chakravorty, who plans to attend Virginia Tech and pursue computationalmodeling/data analytics;● Escarlet Roque Lopez plans to attend Northern Virginia Community College and then a4-year college toward an aerospace engineering career;● Malachi Williams will attend Marymount University to pursue a cybersecurity career.

The Delegate Harry J. Parrish Community Service Scholarship is awarded to a senior who holds leadership positions in community/school activities. The 2021 recipient, Madelynn Warren, completed 100+ hours of community service in high school and will attend James Madison University.

Designed for a student seeking a four-year degree and career in the artistic field, the Fine ArtsScholarship, sponsored by Imagine Design, was awarded to senior Sage McAndrew who willattend Belmont University for a career in vocal performance/commercial music.

The Mays Family Scholarship is awarded to a senior attending a technical school or communitycollege. This year’s recipient, Madison French, is attending Northern Virginia CommunityCollege and wants to become a nurse practitioner.

New this year is the Apple Future Teacher Scholarship, awarded to a senior who intends to bea classroom teacher and represents diversity in the profession. It is sponsored by the formerApple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation. Marco Seaberg is our inaugural recipient andwill attend James Madison University to become a teacher.
