Weather Service Warns of 'Dangerously Low' Wind Chill

Frigid temperatures are coming to Northern Virginia this evening.

Lows in the single digits will come to the area Monday night, the National Weather Service reports.

Tuesday, temperatures will reach a high of about 17 degrees in Prince William County.

That is combined with west winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour with wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour. The wind chill values will be as low as -10.

“Dangerously low wind chills could then lead to frostbite and hypothermia Monday evening through Tuesday,” the weather service warns.

The weather service issued a wind chill advisory from midnight Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Wednesday brings some relief with mostly sunny skies and a high near 31 degrees.
