5 Loudoun Employers Make Best Commuter Workplace List
Five Loudoun employers made a national list of companies and organizations that provide first-rate commuter support.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Five employers in Loudoun County made a list of top companies and organizations in the country that provide first-rate commuter support to their employees. The 2020 Best Workplaces for Commuters list included Collins Aerospace in Sterling, REI Systems, Inc. in Sterling, National Recreation and Park Association in Ashburn, Quantum Park in Ashburn, and Telos Corp. in Ashburn.
Making the list requires employers to meet the National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits, a standard created by the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. NCTR is funded by U.S. Department of Transportation.
The criteria includes providing at least five means of support to help employees leave their cars at home, such as designating a central point of contact for employee commuter questions and providing an emergency ride home program for employees.

Four of the Loudoun employers made the list for the first time. Quantum Park was first recognized in 2018. Loudoun County Commuter Services, a county government program, plans to present awards to the employers during the month of February.
Companies and organizations that participate in the Best Workplaces for Commuters program "gain a competitive edge in employee recruitment and retention, while employees reduce travel time and costs associated with driving to work alone," Judy Galen, employer outreach specialist for Loudoun County Commuter Services, said Wednesday in a statement.
