LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County moved into Phase 2 of the state's vaccine rollout plan on Monday, April 12. Now, all residents aged 16 or older are eligible for the coronavirus vaccine.

The county encouraged all residents to preregister for their vaccine in a news release on Monday. They also noted that anyone under the age of 18 would need to have a parent or guardian with them for their vaccination.

Dr. David Goodfriend is Loudoun County's health director. "The expansion of vaccination opportunities earlier than expected is a result of the efficient vaccination of people who were in the Phase 1 priority groups over the past three and half months," he said in the news release. "As we begin making appointments for people in the general population, we will continue to prioritize vaccination for anyone in groups who are at greater risk of exposure and illness and for spreading the virus."
