Fatal Crash in Leesburg: Police
A Md. woman died in an accident after a motorist apparently fell asleep and struck her vehicle head-on near Lucketts on Jan. 3.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Brunswick, Md. woman, 38, lost her life in a two vehicle crash on Tuesday, Jan. 3 on Route 15 south of Lucketts, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO).
Deputies say that the driver of a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport was traveling south on Route 15 when he apparently fell asleep and crossed the center line.
The Jeep struck a northbound 2014 Kia head on at about 7:26 a.m. The driver of the Kia lost her life at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, Nathaniel W. Nelson, 26, of Charlottesville, Va., was taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Nelson was charged with reckless driving.

A passenger in the Jeep was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to the LCSO.
