Free Pet Adoptions Saturday In Loudoun County: LCAS

Looking for a living, breathing and altogether cuddly Christmas present? For free? Then hit the Loudoun County Animal Shelter this weekend.

WATERFORD, VA—Looking for a living, breathing and altogether cuddly Christmas present? For free? Then cruise by the Loudoun County Animal Shelter 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at 39820 Charles Town Pike.

The facility is holding its fourth annual "Home for the Holidays," an event during which all pet adoption fees will be waived. Considering that normal adoption fees for dogs are as high as $175 and for kittens up to $130, according to the organization's website, well, you get the idea.

The shelter (LCAS) is working with counterparts in Wise County and Highland County, both of which have shelters that are "critically full," according to a release.

"We are so fortunate to be in a community where adoptable pets are in high demand, that it just makes sense to give back to those who still struggle with pet overpopulation," said LCAS operations manager Amy Martin. "Now it's just up to the citizens of Loudoun to help us make some doggy wishes and kitty dreams come true and find them all a home of their own for the holidays."

If all cats older than 6 months are adopted, visitors will receive a voucher redeemable for a free cat adoption anytime in 2019."
