ROUND HILL, VA — Loudoun County and Round Hill officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for the start of construction of the Round Hill-to-Franklin Park trail and the Main Street enhancement projects. The event took place in front of the pavilion in the middle of the town of Round Hill on business Route 7.
Loudoun County Board Chair Phyllis Randall, along with Supervisor Tony Buffington, who represents Round Hill on the county board, and Supervisor Mike Turner, participated in the ceremonial breaking of ground. Round Hill Mayor Scott Ramsey and Town Administrator Melissa Hynes also joined the ceremony to break ground on the $7 million project.
Contractors will build sidewalks and a shared-use path that will link the center of Round Hill to Franklin Park. Concrete sidewalks will be built along both sides of Main Street (Route 719) from Loudoun Street (Route 7) to the location of the former W&OD railroad station.
