Hazmat Team Responds to Cochran Mill Rd. Dump Truck Crash
A crash involving a dump truck and a diesel truck on Cochran Mill Rd. closed the road for five hours Monday to clean spilled diesel fuel.

Deputies responded to a report of a property damage crash at the Cochran Mill Road area resulting in a hazardous material spill Monday, Oct. 27.
A 2006 Kenilworth dump truck was reportedly attempting to exit the gas pumps located in the 42700 block of Cochran Mill Road when the driver failed to notice a 1996 Mack truck traveling northbound.
The driver of the dump truck proceeded to attempt to turn left and struck the Mack truck in the northbound lane. The resulting impact damaged the Mack truck’s diesel fuel tank and diesel fuel spilled into the roadway.

Loudoun Fire and Hazmat teams responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m. The roadway was closed for cleanup until 6:30 p.m.
The driver of the Kenilworth dump truck was issued a summons for failure to yield the right-of-way. No injuries were sustained by either driver.
