Leesburg To End Yard Waste Collection Later This Month

Grass clippings, leaves, weeds and other garden waste will be picked up again starting in April.

LEESBURG, VA — Collection of grass clippings, small branches, weeds and other garden waste will come to an end on Nov. 30 as cold weather puts an end to lawn care and gardening in Leesburg.

The Town of Leesburg announced on Monday it will not collect yard waste during December, January, February or March. Collection will resume in the spring.

The end of yard waste collection will not impact bulk leaf collection, which runs through the end of December, or year-round brush collection.

Yard waste will continue to be collected each Monday through Nov. 30.

The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts an average high temperature of 47 degrees in Virginia in November and an average high of 35 in December. According to the prediction, residents could see periods of snow starting the week of Dec. 8 to 17.
