Leesburg Man Faces Burglary, Assault, Abduction Charges: Police
A man is accused of breaking into homes, assaulting a woman, and attempting a carjacking on Tuesday night in Leesburg, according to police.
LEESBURG, VA — A Leesburg man was arrested and faces several charges after police accused him of breaking into two homes and a vehicle in Leesburg. The man, James Lacey III, was taken into custody near Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg on Tuesday night, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
Police claim that Lacey broke into an unoccupied home in the 100 block of Washington Street NE on Tuesday. Authorities said that he left that residence "in a state of disarray," before fleeing towards Edwards Ferry Road.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities received a call from a home in the 500 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE. 911 dispatchers heard a commotion and determined that a suspect had forced his way into the home and grabbed a woman.

A man in the residence then struck the suspect with an object, according to a report from the police department. The suspect released the woman and left the area on foot, police said.
The police department said that the suspect then tried to enter a vehicle that was occupied by a woman and a girl. The car was at the intersection of Edwards Ferry Road NE and Catoctin Circle NE.

Police responded to the area and found the suspect on foot. They identified Lacey as the suspect in the evening's incidents.
Lacey is charged with destruction of property, unlawful entry, burglary, assault, abduction, and attempted carjacking. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
