Leesburg Man Wins $170K From Virginia Lottery's Lucky Break

LEESBURG, VA — A man from Leesburg won $170K in the form of a particularly large check from the Virginia Lottery. The man, Carlos Aguilar, was the first person to win the top prize from the lottery's Lucky Break scratcher.

"I couldn't believe it," Aguilar told lottery officials. "I thought someone must be playing a joke on me!"

Aguilar bought his winning ticket from the 7-Eleven at 9908 Georgetown Pike in Fairfax, as he was driving home from work.

The Lucky Break from the Virginia Lottery features four top prizes. Aguilar purchased the first winning ticket, but three more top prize winning tickets are still unclaimed, according to the Virginia Lottery.
