Leesburg Singer Wins Season Finale of NBC's 'Songland'
Ryan Cam from Leesburg became the final winner of the second season of "Songland," the NBC show that features songwriters.

LEESBURG, VA — Ryan Cambetes, a singer and songwriter from Leesburg, won the season finale of NBC's songwriting show "Songland" Monday night, with celebrity judge Usher choosing to record Ryan's song “California.” Ryan, whose stage name is Ryan Cam, was one of four songwriters competing to get Usher to pick their song.
R&B superstar Usher considered submissions from Cam as well as from David Wade, Miranda Glory and Fatherdude.
"This is crazy. Thank you so much @nbcsongland for the opportunity to meet such incredible songwriters @davidwade_ @fatherdude @chillranda and learn from some of the most talented musicians @ryantedder and @shanemcanally," Cam wrote on his Facebook page in response to Usher choosing his song. "And thank you @usher."

During the episode, Usher said Cam's song "California" feels "super-cool" and "I am really happy I chose it."
On the show, Cam said he is "incredibly honored" that Usher will be cutting a track of one of his songs.

Usher's recording of Cam's song is now available for streaming and on YouTube.
Cam offered behind-the-scenes photos from the studio in Hollywood where the show was recorded.

Cam, 23, has released three EPs since his debut, "No Pressure," in 2017: "Red" in February 2018, "Star Power" in May 2019 and "Endless Summer" last August. All are available on major streaming platforms.
