Leesburg Teen Arrested for Hit-and-Run, Reckless Driving in Lansdowne: LCSO
An allegedly intoxicated Leesburg woman, 19, was arrested on multiple charges after taking a vehicle and driving it recklessly in Landowne.

LEESBURG, VA — A 19-year-old Leesburg woman was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly driving another person's vehicle without their permission at a high rate of speed while intoxicated, running a stop light and hitting another vehicle in Lansdowne, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO).
With a damaged tire the driver was reportedly driving at such a high rate of speed that sparks were observed by a witness to come from the rim, according to a LCSO spokesperson.
Deputies say they responded on Sept. 1 at 5:32 a.m. to the area of Calphams Mill Court for report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle. The victim reported their vehicle was taken by a known acquaintance.

A short time later, the LCSO received reports of a reckless driver in the area of Riverpoint Drive and Kipheart Drive, near the scene of the crash on Aug. 31 that killed a 5-month-old baby.

Another caller reported their vehicle was struck in the area of River Creek Parkway and Crosstrail Boulevard after the driver of the suspect vehicle disregarded a red stop light.
The driver was located back in the area of Calphams Mill Court and identified as Jasmine R. Herrarte, 19, of Leesburg.
Herrarte was charged with hit and run, unauthorized use of a vehicle, DUI (under 21-years-of age), driving on a revoked license and possession of alcohol by someone under the age of 21.
Herrarte remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, according to the LCSO.
