Leesburg's Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony Set for Dec. 2

Leesburg's Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony will be held at the First Friday Celebration in Downtown Leesburg on Dec. 2.

LEESBURG, VA – The Town of Leesburg's Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony will be held at the First Friday Celebration in Downtown Leesburg on December 2, 2016, according to a Town of Leesburg announcement.

Join friends and neighbors to celebrate the start of the holiday season in Leesburg on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:00 p.m. on the Town Green’s new stage (25 West Market Street).

After a holiday message from Leesburg Mayor David Butler, the Menorah will be lit and the crowd will be invited to join in a holiday sing-a-long with Leesburg’s Town Council. The Mayor will “throw the switch” to light the Christmas tree. The festive ceremony will continue under the picturesque lights of the tree with singing, dance, and instrumental performances from local schools, and music venues.

Stay in downtown Leesburg after the ceremony as the downtown merchants will host Leesburg’s First Friday. More than45 downtown shops, restaurants and businesses will be open late, with live music, special sales and holiday cheer.
