Live Roaches In Restaurant's Kitchen: Leesburg Health Inspections

Loudoun County's Health Department conducted many restaurant inspections in the first week of June and found live roaches in one kitchen.

LEESBURG, VA — Officials from the Loudoun County Health Department inspected multiple restaurants across the Leesburg area from June 1 to June 8, including one restaurant that had live roaches in its kitchen.

As coronavirus restrictions continue to loosen around the state, health inspectors are returning to conduct restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department also performs a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.
