Loudoun County Vaccine Update: Phase 2 Begins, Waitlist Shrinks
Phase 2 of coronavirus vaccinations has begun across the country, and Loudoun's Health Department provided an update on their timeline.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Phase 2 began last week in Loudoun County, and the health department said they have started to make progress on their coronavirus vaccine waitlist. Now, the county is vaccinated people in Phase 2 who preregistered on Feb. 23.
30,843 people in Phase 2 are currently on the county's coronavirus vaccine waitlist. The number of registrants on the waitlist decreased by more than 2,400 in the last week. Meanwhile, individuals in any portion of Phase 1 are being scheduled for appointments within days of their registration, the county said.
In total, 235,390 people in Loudoun County have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 88,288 people are fully vaccinated, according to the health department's dashboard.

In an update on Friday, the health department provided some considerations for residents who are planning their appointment at Loudoun's clinic at Dulles Town Center.

The health department stated that masks are still required at the vaccination clinic. They also recommended that patients wear a loose fitting shirt that allows for easy access to your upper arm.
The health department warned residents that the line for the clinic may stretch outside some days. "However, the lines should move quickly," they said. More information about the clinic's guidelines is available online.
Loudoun County residents can preregister for a coronavirus vaccine online. Residents can also call the state's vaccine hotline at (877) 829-4682. To find an appointment at a pharmacy or clinic, residents can also look at the map available through VaccineFinder.
