Loudoun Schools Urge Students, Families To Take Precautions
Loudoun schools issued the warning after students participated in private events where they may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Large numbers of Loudoun County Public Schools students have participated in private, non-school-sponsored events where they may have been exposed to the coronavirus, the county school system said Tuesday.
The Loudoun County Health Department is conducting contact tracing investigations of participants in these events. Participants in the events attended by people who have tested positive for the coronavirus are encouraged to self-quarantine or self-isolate as directed by the LCHD or their doctor.
All LCPS employees are required to follow physical-distancing and other precautions on LCPS property. The school system is asking students and families who may be planning to visit school facilities or participate in the remaining in-person graduation ceremonies scheduled at LCPS high schools to take the same precautions.

“Together we can help our community continue to recover from this virus,” LCPS Superintendent Eric Williams said Tuesday in a statement. “As businesses and other facilities become more accessible we must work to protect ourselves and one another.”
Students and family members should not visit an LCPS facility if they are experiencing coughing, sneezing, fever, chills, muscle aches, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, or new loss of smell.
