Northern Virginia Weather: When Will Thermometer Hit 90 Degrees?

STERLING, VA — The past couple of days have been relatively cool for this time of the year but that's about to change in a big way, according to the local outpost of the National Weather Service. Here's a no-nonsense timeline: Wednesday is expected to be sunny with highs in the lower 80. Thursday? Sunny with highs near 90. Friday? Sunny and hotter still.

Looks like it's time for another big bake, of which there already have been a few but certainly will continue through the summer. Don't expect too many more days with fresh coolness until the fall. Welcome to summer 2017. Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:
