​Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Leesburg: Police
Witnesses to the Dec. 3 pedestrian crash in Leesburg are asked to contact the police department.

LEESBURG, VA — A 39 year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while he was attempting to cross the Route 15 Bypass on Dec. 3, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
Police say that at approximately 5:34 p.m., Leesburg Police Officers were dispatched to the area of the Route 15 Bypass and Fort Evans Road for a reported crash involving a pedestrian.
Preliminary indications are that the victim was attempting to cross the Route 15 Bypass in the area of Fort rian Evans Road NE when he was struck by a 2013 Toyota Highlander that was driven by a 71 year-old Culpeper, Va. man.

The victim was transported by AirCare to the INOVA Fairfax Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. A Leesburg Police Department spokesperson said he is still in the hospital as of Tuesday, Dec. 6.
The driver of the vehicle remained on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
