Peggy F. Howard, a native of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. She graduated from Leesburg High School and attended Averett College. Peggy received her nursing certificate from Winchester School of Nursing and served as a nurse in the Loudoun community for 34 years. She was the longest living member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church and a devout Christian. She enjoyed attending her weekly breakfast group and cherished the close friendships she had with many special people over the years. While she was active in the community through civic endeavors such as the Woman’s Club and the Lioness Club of Leesburg, she will be remembered most for her humility, generosity, and delicious cooking!
Peggy was a devoted wife to Fred Howard for 59 years and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Fred Howard; two daughters, Linda Hiserman and Hope McCullough; four grandchildren, Megan Marvin, Brett Hiserman, Amy Hiserman and Emily McCullough; and two great- grandchildren, Brayden Marvin and Elise Marvin.
Family and friends are asked to join in celebrating “Nanny’s” life on Friday, November 7, 2014, from either 2:00pm - 4:00pm or 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Colonial Funeral Home (201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, VA 20176).
