Police: Traffic Stop Leads to Jail for Chantilly Man

A Chantilly man was jailed Tuesday for possessing stolen property and other violations after he was pulled over in Purcellville for speeding, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

At 3:27 p.m. Tuesday, a Loudoun sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a motorist on Route 7 at Hamilton Station Road. The driver, Lonzer K. Tynes Jr., 31, was driving in excess of the posted speed limit and was found to be wanted in Prince William County for a probation violation, according to a police report.

A search of his vehicle found an open container of alcohol and a laptop that was reported stolen in Fairfax County, police said. Tynes was charged with driving on a suspended license and grand larceny, and he was issued a summons for driving while consuming

alcohol.

Tynes is being held without bond for the probation violation in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center in Leesburg, and he was given a $5,000 bond on the Loudoun County charges.
