Purcellville Christmas Parade 2019: Parade Route, Schedule

PURCELLVILLE, VA — Purcellville's 16th Annual Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 starting at 1 p.m.. The parade will feature decorated cars, trucks and floats, as well as walking groups dressed up in holiday garb. Floats will have a chance to win a prize in the Christmas Parade Float Contest.

In an effort to improve the safety and efficiency of the parade, the town is changing the route of the 2019 parade. The new route will start at Loudoun Valley High School on North Maple Avenue, turn right onto Main Street, then turn left onto Nursery Avenue, and conclude at Emerick Elementary School. The following roads will be closed from 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.:

• Main Street and N. Maple
• Main Street at Hatcher, Nursery, 18th, 16th and 12th
• Nursery Avenue to Main Street
• 23rd street

Roads will open after the parade is over, which will be approximately 2:30 p.m.

On Dec. 14 and 15, Purcellville also will be hosting free lights tour rides to view the holiday decorations and lights throughout town. Lasting about 45 minutes, the Lights Tour is a great way to see the best holiday lights in Purcellville.

The holiday lights tours start at the Bush Tabernacle at 250 S. Nursery Avenue. There are 48 seats per tour and tickets for each tour are handed out 30 minutes beforehand. For example, tickets for the 6 p.m. tour are available at 5:30 p.m. and tickets for the 7 p.m. tour are available at 6:30 p.m. There are three tours each night at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m.

Tickets cannot be reserved in advance. The Holiday Lights Tours are hosted by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
