Rachel Kathleen Carey, 95, passed away early Wednesday morning on December 24, 2014 in Leesburg, VA. Rachel was a resident at Heritage Hall in Leesburg for the past four years; moving to that facility not long after the passing of her husband John J. Carey. She was born on June 26, 1919 in Blawnox, PA., the daughter of the late Harry Lang and Kathleen O’Brien Lang.
Rachel was a graduate of Robert Morris Business School and a devoted housewife and mother most of her years. Rachel is survived by her five sons: John Jay Carey of Easton MD., Mark S. and Scott M. Carey of Hayward, CA., Wayne D. Carey of Lebanon, PA. and Kevin A. Carey of Lansdowne, VA; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at 2pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Selinsgrove, PA. Friends are also invited to a viewing to be held earlier at 1pm at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 North High Street, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 (570.374.4131).
