Intersection Improvement To Affect Loudoun Traffic: VDOT

Installation of sensors and dynamic flashing lights will affect traffic at an intersection known for accidents in Loudoun County.

LEESBURG, VA—Beginning Monday, June 24 through the next couple of weeks, installation of sensors and "dynamic flashing lights" will affect traffic on Evergreen Mills Road and Watston Road 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The work is part of safety improvements at the intersection, at which numerous crashes have occurred over the years. Here are the details, per Loudoun County:

Evergreen Mills Road (Route 621) from just north of Watson Road (Route 860) to just south of Watson Road, as well as Watson Road approaching Evergreen Mills Road will have a weekday flagging operation Monday, June 24 through Friday, July 12.
There will be one lane of alternating traffic via the flagging on Evergreen Mills and Watson roads Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28; Monday, July 1 through Tuesday, July 2; and Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Drivers can expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.
