Thirty-Five Year Staple In Leesburg Finds A Match In AAA

AAA Continues Car Care Expansion With Tire Shop Acquisition

WASHINGTON, D. C. (Tuesday, February 4, 2020) – AAA officially announces the acquisition of The Tire Shop, adding the award-winning auto services shop to its growing car care operations in Virginia. The Tire Shop, voted top shop in Loudoun County for 13 years including top auto repair, top inspection station and top mechanic in 2019, has one location at 925 Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg. The acquisition brings the number of AAA car care locations in Virginia to nine as the organization continues to invest in quality automotive services.

“AAA is known for providing world-class automotive service through roadside assistance to stranded motorists,” said AAA Tire & Auto Service President, Craig Sumerel. “We are excited to add The Tire Shop to the AAA family, providing the same top-notch automotive and tire service that customers have come to expect.”

Owned by Greg Phillips and Harold Fuller, The Tire Shop has been in continuous operation in Leesburg for more than 35 years and has been an ASE Blue seal shop for over 15 years.

“We have been approached by many companies over the years and found AAA matched our values of putting the customer first and understanding that the employees are the greatest resource we have,” said Greg Phillips.

The Tire Shop location offers 13 service bays for automotive services, including free air. We also perform diagnostics, brakes, batteries, oil changes and all preventative maintenance services. AAA will invest in infrastructure, equipment, and showroom enhancements at the location later this year. As with other AAA Tire & Auto locations, membership is not required for service.
