LEESBURG, VA — The Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Fourth of July “wave parade” from Monday, June 29 to Thursday, July 2 beginning at 6 p.m. Similar to the town's annual Santa Ride, the parade will feature Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty who will ride on top of a fire truck with patriotic decorations while visiting local neighborhoods.
Leesburg is hosting the wave parade in partnership with the Leesburg Police Department and Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company.
The town will provide the fire truck's daily routes on its website and on social media each night. The fire truck will be traveling slowly so residents can take photos and wave at Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty.
