Vaccination Clinic Comes To Leesburg's 4th Of July Celebration

Loudoun County is bringing a community vaccination clinic to Leesburg's 4th of July celebration at Ida Lee Park on Sunday.

LEESBURG, VA — In addition to the fireworks, food, and music on the 4th of July at Ida Lee Park in Leesburg, visitors will be able to get their coronavirus vaccine. The Loudoun County government announced that a community vaccination clinic will be at the event on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday's clinic is just one of many community vaccination events that will be held across Loudoun County over the summer. The clinics will arrive as fifty percent of the county is now fully vaccinated.

This week, Loudoun County announced several changes to longstanding coronavirus adjustments. On Thursday, July 1, the county will stop accepting personal protective equipment donations.

"The PPE donation program was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to distribute PPE to health care providers and facilities in need," the county wrote in an update. "Over the last 15 months, Loudoun County distributed over 15,000 items of PPE to nearly 30 different health care providers and collected over $20,000 in monetary donations for the purchase of PPE."

This week, the county is also discontinuing its daily COVID-19 reports that have detailed positivity rates, hospitalizations, deaths, and vaccinations throughout the pandemic. Instead, the daily report will be replaced by a weekly version.

In Loudoun County, vaccinations are also available on a regular basis from the health department's vaccination clinic at Dulles Town Center. The clinic can be found at 21090 Dulles Town Circle, Sterling, VA.

Free COVID-19 vaccines will be available for anyone aged 12 or older from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2. The clinic's will also be open for walk-ins on Tuesday, July 6 from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

More information about Loudoun County's different community vaccination clinics is available online. The events will be held in Sterling, Lovettsville, and Bluemont.
