Village at Leesburg Winter Ice Fest Set for Jan. 14

SEE PHOTOS of amazing ice sculptures at Village of Leesburg's annual Winter Ice Fest. The 2017 Ice Fest will be held on Jan. 14.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Mark your calendars! Village At Leesburg's 4th annual Winter Ice Fest will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free and open to the public, eight world-class ice carvers will piece together huge installations carved from several different blocks of ice.

Four of the top five finishers from last year's field of ten will be returning, including 2014 winner and 2015 runner-up Todd Dawson. Lisa Herndon from WINC FM will emcee the award ceremony.

Winners will be announced and sculptures illuminated at 5 p.m.

Visitors at the event will enjoy music, visit with the Washington Capitals mascot Slapshot and the Red Rockers Cheerleaders, and indulge in s'mores from local girl scouts.

Village at Leesburg has also commissioned a signature ice sculpture by Baltimore-based Ice Lab Ice Sculptures, which will be set up before 9 am.
