What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2020 In Leesburg
As the unofficial end of summer approaches, here are the service changes to know for the Labor Day holiday.
LEESBURG, VA — Summer may have looked different this year because of the pandemic, but Labor Day is still the time to bid the season farewell before pools close and kids start classes. In Leesburg, there are various closings and schedule changes to know for the holiday.
On Monday, Sept. 7, Leesburg government offices will be closed to observe Labor Day. Students in Loudoun County Public Schools will begin the school year in a virtual format the next day, Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Below are the schedule changes to know for the Labor Day holiday in and around Leesburg:

Town of Leesburg offices: Closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Loudoun County government offices: Closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Loudoun County Public Schools: Sept. 7 is an observed holiday. The first day of school (100-percent virtual) is Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Loudoun County Animal Services: LCAS is closed Mondays, including Monday, Sept. 7. It is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Refuse and Recycling: There will be no trash, recycling, or yard waste collection in Leesburg on Monday, Sept. 7.
Loudoun County Landfill: The landfill will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Libraries: All Loudoun County Public Library locations are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Post offices: U.S. Postal Service offices are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
Loudoun County Transit: Loudoun County Transit is not operating Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.
Loudoun County Visitors Center: The center, located at 112-G South Street SE in Leesburg, will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
Ida Lee Recreation Center: The recreation center will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
A.V. Symington Aquatic Center: The outdoor pool will be open on Monday, Sept. 7, its last day open for the season.
