What's Open, Closed In Leesburg For July 4, 2020 Observation
As the Independence Day holiday falls on a Saturday, some services will have changes the day prior.

LEESBURG, VA — Fourth of July is slated to look different this year due to the ongoing pandemic. Leesburg's fireworks and many other celebrations are cancelled, leaving residents to find ways to celebrate at home. But one thing we can count on is a scheduled holiday.
Because July 4 falls on a Saturday, the Independence Day holiday is observed on Friday, July 3. Town of Leesburg and Loudoun County government offices will be closed, and other services will have schedule changes.
Many services are already affected by the pandemic. Here are the openings and closings to know around the holiday:

Town of Leesburg government: Leesburg government offices will be closed Friday, July 3. Otherwise, town hall is open normal hours. Public access to its second and third floors resumed on Monday, June 15.
Loudoun County government offices: Loudoun County Government offices are closed on Friday, July 3. County government is encouraging residents to visit the county's website to conduct business online and to view any impacts to in-person services prior to visiting a county facility.

Courts: Courts do not operate on July 3. See operating updates from Loudoun County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court.
Animal shelter: Loudoun County Animal Services is conducting adoptions by appointment.
Loudoun community centers: All Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services facilities will be closed July 3. Otherwise, all facilities, except adult day centers, will be open starting July 1 with physical distancing and program restrictions or modifications in place.
Leesburg community centers: Ida Lee Park Recreation Center will be closed on July 3 but has reopened otherwise with a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing and reduced hours. On Monday, July 6, the AV Symington Aquatic Center in Leesburg will reopen. In order to stay in compliance with state's phase three reopening plan, all interactive features at the center will remain closed. This includes the water slides, floating snake and lily pad crossing. The lazy river will be open but no tubes will be permitted. The pool will open to all town residents from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. for non-residents, seven days a week.
Libraries: All branches of the Loudoun County Public Library will be open July 3 but closed July 4. Otherwise, Loudoun libraries are now open with physical distancing measures in place and some limitations on services.
Loudoun County Transit: Loudoun County Transit will resume service for Metro Connection Bus Routes 990 and 992 on Monday, July 6.
Post offices: Closed on Saturday, July 4.
Trash and recycling pickup: For Leesburg residents, trash and recycling will be collected as normal on Friday, July 3. There will be no collections on Saturday, July 4. Private collection customers should check with their provider for changes.
