Duck-Killing Parasite Invades Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, Will Be Completely Drained

A water-borne parasite has invaded the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, killing about 80 ducklings and prompting the National Park Service to completely drain the pool on Sunday. The NPS will drain the pool starting June 11 for cleaning and treatment of a water-borne parasite.

Amazon Opening Huge Campus In Herndon

Amazon Web Services will establish a new East Coast corporate campus at One Dulles Tower in Herndon, a huge move that will create up to 1,500 jobs, Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced this week. Herndon beat out locations in Texas and Washington state for the project.

Massive Road Closures Throughout DC This Weekend

Multiple events will cause extensive road closures throughout the District both Saturday and Sunday -- and even some on Friday. Capital Pride festivities including a march and block party, the Purple Stride 5K, and the Lawyers Have Heart race will all tie up traffic.

DC Police Identify 2 Men In Truck That Hit Police Officers

The two men accused of hitting two D.C. police officers and a city worker with a truck, critically injuring one of them, have been named by D.C. police in a statement issued Friday afternoon. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the crash, whether terrorism played a role, and other details.
