Chuy's Tex-Mex Restaurant Sets Opening Date in Springfield

On the heels of its first opening in Northern Virginia in Fairfax just last month, Chuy’s, the popular Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant, will open its second area location in Springfield on Tuesday, Oct. 28, the company announced in a news release. Here’s more about the opening, from the release:

Conveniently located in ‘restaurant row’ of the newly renovated Springfield Town Center, Chuy’s will welcome mall patrons with a colorful and quirky atmosphere complete with a shrine to Elvis Presley, a “school” of hand-carved wooden fish streaming throughout, the La Chihuahua Bar showcasing framed pictures of neighborhood dogs, metal palm trees and a hubcap lined ceiling.

Diners can expect a menu of outstanding Tex-Mex dishes featuring family recipes from South Texas, New Mexico and Mexican border towns, all made fresh to order from the restaurant’s all scratch kitchen.

Standout dishes sure to satisfy those looking for traditional, heartwarming flavors include the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Enchiladas – freshly roasted, hand pulled chicken and cheese enchiladas smothered in Boom-Boom sauce made from roasted New Mexican green chiles, tomatillos, green onions, cilantro, lime juice and melted cheese; the “Big as Yo’ Face” Burrito – a homemade 12” flour tortilla stuffed with refried beans, cheese and a choice of sizzling fajita steak or chicken; and Chile Rellenos – a fresh Anaheim pepper fire roasted and filled with choice of cheese, seasoned ground sirloin, oven-roasted chicken or shrimp, all battered and fried to perfection, and served with one of Chuys’ signature sauces.

Chuy’s Springfield, located at 6793 Springfield Mall, Springfield, Virginia 22150, will be open daily for lunch and dinner at 11am, open Sunday through Thursday until 10pm and Saturday and Sunday until 11pm. Weekdays from 4pm to 7pm, the restaurant will offer happy hour drink specials and a fully-loaded Nacho Car, an unlimited build-your-own nacho station with chips, salsa, queso, ground sirloin and more.
