One Teen Dead, Four Injured In Lorton Crash: Police
The vehicle accident will close down Furnace Road through Friday's rush hour, say authorities.

LORTON, VA — One teenager died and four others were injured Friday in an automobile crash on Furnace Road in Lorton, according to the Fairfax County police. The accident occurred in the 10100 block of Furnace Road, which has been shut down between Lorton Road and Dairy Road.
The accident victims have not been identified, but all are males in their teens, the police said.
The police urged drivers to use alternate routes, as Furnace Road will be closed into Friday evening.

Police officers responded to Furnace Road near Lorton Road and Dairy Road at about 11:24 a.m. Friday for the report of a single-car crash, according to a police report. A Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound on Furnace Road when it left the roadway, struck a tree and flipped.
The four surviving teens were taken to the hospital by both helicopter and ambulance. "Detectives are working to identify the teens and notify family members," the police said.

A crash reconstruction team said that speed may have been a factor in the fatal crash, the police said.
