Fair Winds Brewing Founder's Death Announced In Lorton

LORTON, VA—The death of Casey Jones, founder and owner of Fair Winds Brewing Company at 7000 Newington Road, was announced Thursday by the company.

Said the statement on Facebook: "It is with great sadness we inform you of the passing of Casey Jones, our owner and CEO. Casey’s vision, dedication, and commitment has been integral to our business from day one. He will be dearly missed. We ask for privacy for his family and co-workers in this difficult time and will provide further information as it becomes available."

According to its website, Fair Winds opened March 4, 2015, with a mission to "provide fresh, local, flavorful craft beers to our neighbors and friends in Fairfax County and throughout the Commonwealth and the District of Columbia." Sure enough, as pointed out by the Washington Business Journal, it has won six awards from the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild from 2016-18.
