Lorton Farmers Market Opening Sunday, May 31, 2020

Opening of the Lorton Market was delayed this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The volunteer-run market will be opening as Virginia begins to reopen its economy and volunteers become available to serve at the markets. The Lorton market will be open on Sundays at 8990 Lorton Station Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

While the market still features the same locally grown, farm-fresh products customers have come to value, procedures at the markets are decidedly different this year in keeping with the Virginia Governor’s and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) social distancing and safety guidelines designed to protect customers, market staff and volunteers.

To help shoppers keep their visits relatively brief some vendors are offering pre-ordering and streamlined payment and pickup options. When possible, shoppers are asked to pre-order their items directly from the vendors. One vendor, Ochoa Produce offers pre-ordering online here.
