LORTON, VA — A new Asian-fusion restaurant is set to open July 23 in the Shoppes of Lorton Valley on Ox Road. Fusebox's grand opening is set to take place at 5 p.m., according the restaurant website.

The Asian eatery and bar is set to open in the space formerly occupied by long time Hunan Lorton, which closed in 2018 after 15 years in the space.

"We only incorporate the freshest ingredients and are constantly experimenting with different flavors, styles, traditions, and cooking techniques to make something new," reads the website. "Fusebox blends traditional and contemporary aspects into a uniquely delectable experience.

The owners of Fusebox have been getting the place ready for this day for a while: In early March, the eatery began posting images of its sign and renovation work on the space on social media.

On the menu expect to find classic appetizers like everything from veggie spring rolls ($4) and crab rangoon ($5) to crispy sweet and sour cauliflower ($7) and jalapeño garlic steak-cut fries ($8) and duck quesadillas ($14). For their main dishes, the website lists cauliflower fried "rice" with shrimp ($13) Sweet and Sour Chicken ($12) and classic beef and broccoli ($14) among the options. It also lists a children's menu and dessert menu.

The opening marks a bit of good news for the Shoppes, which saw the temporary closure in March of sweetFrog Frozen Yogurt, which has been in Lorton since at least 2012. The store has since closed permanently and is no longer listed on the chain website.

The owners did not immediate return requests for comment.
