Northern Virginia Weather: Break From Cold as Rain Returns

We'll see much warmer temperatures in the forecast, before a swift return to winter, according to the National Weather Service.

STERLING, VA — Monday welcomes warmer temperatures which only get warmer Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the area arm of the National Weather Service. The specter of rain will loom large for start of the week, with a chance for snow as temperatures head back to normal.

Beginning Monday night, rain chances will be on the upswing through Thursday, when there might even be a touch of snow.

Meanwhile, highs in the low-60s are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.

Enjoy the few days of warmth, because temperatures drop swiftly Wednesday night, with even a chance for snow in some parts of the area. The high Thursday will only reach 38 degrees.
